Creativity Exercise 7: Creativity in Action

Creativity Exercise 7: Creativity in Action

Background

We have made to exercise number 7 in Regina Pacelli's book, Whole Lotta Creativity Going On. Exercise 7 is categorized as "Creativity in Action". The assignment is as follows:

Write a short commercial jingle to boost sales for a horrible tasting, but miraculous and quick-acting cough syrup.

Image generated in Photo Shop using the following prompt: a product photo of a horrible tasting, but miraculous and quick-acting cough syrup

Yesterday, I introduced myself in ChatGPT, the same as I did in my other online courses because I was previously advised by my graphic design professor that the chatbot works better when you're polite.

Here are the three responses we generated:

Option 1

(Upbeat, catchy tune)

🎶 "It’s not the best, we’ll admit it's true,
But in seconds flat, it’ll fix up you!
One little sip, and you’ll say goodbye,
To that cough that keeps you up all night!"

(Spoken with enthusiasm)
"Quick relief in every drop—taste isn’t great, but the cough stops!"

🎶 "It’s rough, it’s tough, but the job gets done,
Take a gulp and cough be gone!"

Option 2

(Upbeat, catchy melody)

🎶
"When your throat’s on fire,
And you feel so dire,
There’s a fix that’s fast,
Though it might not last!

It’s Cough-B-Gone!
One sip, and the cough is gone,
It’s not the best taste,
But it works with haste!

Cough-B-Gone!
Your throat will feel brand new,
It’s tough to swallow,
But relief will follow!

Cough-B-Gone!
For coughs that just won’t quit,
Take one shot, and that’s it!
(Yeah, it’s quick!)
🎶

Option 3

(Upbeat, playful tune)

🎶
**"It tastes so bad, but you'll be glad!
One spoonful and you're feeling rad!
It’s the worst you'll ever sip,
But your cough will do a flip!

Take it fast, the cough won’t last,
Works like magic, super fast!
Bad taste, good fix, just one quick sip—
Miracle Syrup does the trick!"**
🎶

Conclusion

I'm no song writer, but my favorite of the three options was option number 1 because it has a playful, light-hearted vibe to make the bad taste seem less serious and the quick relief the focus. Which would you prefer?
