Blog 3 - Design

For my magazine cover, I chose Yoga Journal because I enjoy practicing the Yoga and I am interested in learning more through a Yoga teacher certification.

To create the cover image, I used the prompt "ohm" and the image generator because the generator in Photoshop can support over 100 different languages. At the end of our yoga sessions we end with chanting om. So when I was sitting at my computer trying to think of a prompt, I enter "om" as I meditated and generated the following images:




When I removed the letter "h" and prompted the generator with "om" again, the generator generated these images:




Next, I added the word "symbol" to the prompt. The prompt, "om symbol" created these images:





 I loved all the generated images. To me they all look very psychedelic. The gold in the last three images gave me the feeling of what neurons firing would look like inside the brain. None of the first nine images generated the om symbol I was looking for. However, I decided to work with the first design as the background for the magazine cover with the opacity decreased to 85% 


I tried the image generator again. The next prompt I used was "create an om symbol". The image generator then created the following images:

Where Rhythm Meets Flavor: A Night at Kaya’s Table  The first thing you notice when you step into Kaya’s Table is the scent—thick, warm, and inviting. The air hums with slow-roasted jerk spices, caramelized plantains, and the rich, buttery scent of cornbread just out of the oven. There’s a hint of coconut and something smoky, maybe a whisper of charcoal-grilled seafood kissed by the sea breeze. The aroma alone could make a full man hungry.   It takes a moment for your eyes to adjust to the lighting—soft golden hues cast from Moroccan-style lanterns that sway just slightly with the rhythm of the bass.   Hanging by Hooks: My First Encounter with Body Suspension Last weekend, I attended a tattoo convention expecting the usual vibrant mix of inked masterpieces, creative booths, and buzzing machines. What I didn’t anticipate was witnessing a performance that would profoundly challenge and inspire me: a body suspension demonstration. In the middle of the room, a petite woman was being suspended by eight hooks, all carefully placed in her abdomen. The hooks pierced her skin in a line down the front of her torso, pulling her body taut as she hovered horizontally above the ground.
